Most of us love traveling and daydream of far off destinations with their everlasting summer and white sand beaches. But, some of us don't just conform to loving travel and daydreaming about it; we live and breathe travel to the point that it is more than just a priority in our life; it is an addiction.
But, are you addicted to travel? See if these signs apply to you.
You need to feel and fill the soul with travel, so whenever you can't travel yourself, you try to supply that need by reading and watching the experiences other people are having abroad. You desire to be in their shoes to live exactly what they are living, and wish constantly you could just get up and leave.
You don't have a ton of physical and material attachments because you know you can't stay in one place for too long. You care little about these material things because you actually appreciate having a simpler life by just living with the things you can carry with you in your backpack or suitcase. For you, sometimes in life, less is more. If you have possessions, they probably include a ton of maps and pictures from all around the world pinned in your room, house, or office.
That adrenaline rush you get is incomparable to anything else. Your heart beats a thousand times per minute as you go through the process of actualizing your next trip, and it only gets more intense the closer you get to that final buy now button. You buy plane tickets compulsively just because they are extremely cheap, and you know you'll figure out how to turn that opportunity into an unforgettable experience.
You can't just wait to go back home, unwind, let it all sink in, and then plan for another vacation when you feel like you need it. Actually, you always need that next vacation. Better said, you almost don't see traveling as a vacation. It is a need and a routine. You can't think of going back home without already starting to plan the next trip based on something you learned while on your current trip or something you already had on your bucket list.
Most, if not all, of the money you save goes towards your travel fund. You become a Scrooge in life, only because you know that a $20 t-shirt equals a full day of spending in India or that a $50 pair of jeans is an amazing day tour along the beaches of Thailand. Experiences become more important than possessions.
By now, you've realized that getting lost is just a means to discovering hidden gems that you wouldn't have found otherwise, and more often than not, these discoveries do become a highlight of your trip. In fact, you like getting lost to soak it all up as you find your way through places with no predestined course.
So, what do you say; are you a travel addict? How many of these signs do you see in yourself?
